Sanskrit literary works by Jains in Mughal North India: The historical significance of a reinvented tradition

The article seeks to bring out the largely neglected Jain contributions to the Sanskrit literature during the Mughal time. It points out that biographies of monks in the form of kavyas was a new trend. The Tapāgaccha monastic leaders are portrayed in terms suitable to rulers. There are also interesting references to Mughal emperors and other rulers.
