Abstract

These have been turbulent times. People who seemed to have adjusted to the COVID-19 crisis have COVID-19 fatigue and have become more casual and slowed down. I see this in this issue of the journal and the next, that we are getting slower responses. I see that in my behaviour too.
Your journal is now part of the Scopus index system. I must thank Shikha Jain for her persistence and guidance. Richa Diwan and Priya Rai have had to work extra hard in supporting the editors and in making sure this issue comes out in time. SAGE team, thank you.
This issue is a special issue on ‘Challenges for Creating Value in Tourism, Transport and Hospitality’. The guest editors are Francisco Javier Navarro, Nebrija University, Spain; Valentina Della Corte, University of Naples, Frederico II, Italy; and Cihan Cobanoglu, University of South Florida, USA.
This is a new subject for the journal and an industry badly hit by COVID-19. It is interesting to see the articles.
This issue also has some regular articles, opinion pieces and a commentary on Philip Kotler’s article on consumerism.
The next two issues are also special issues. The first, ‘Creating Value in Business’ has guest editors, Roberto Bruni and Silvia Cosimato, both from Italy, with help from Elizbeth Koupman of IBM, Canada, for the November 2021 issue.
The second is on ‘Defining and Measuring Value’ with V. Kumar, Indian School of Business, India, and board member, Journal of Creating Value and Rajendra Srivastava, Indian School of Business, India, for the May 2022 issue.
Also, the Creating Value School will start at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in 2022. The Value School at the Kobe University has been functioning for some time.
The fourth Global Conference on Creating Value, where your Journal is a co-sponsor, will be an e-conference divided into three sections. Americas will be on 21 September 2021, Europe on 22 September 2021 and Asia on 23 September 2021.
Each session will be 2 hours long. This year, we will add a ‘Creating Value Certification’, through a learning of the three keynote addresses and six lectures, which will be carried out subsequently. The recording of the conference and the courses will be available for a month to allow people to watch at their convenience.
A group headed by Martijn Rademakers in the Netherlands is working on a ‘Creating Value Academy’, which is discussed in the news section.
Your journal continues to promote Creating Value and its movement.
