Eddy was a prolific writer, being sole author of sixty books and pamphlets. The student should begin with his two autobiographies: A Pilgrimage of Ideas; or, The Re-Education of Sherwood Eddy (New York: FarrarRinehart, 1934); and Eighty Adventurous Years: An Autobiography (New York: HarperBros., 1955). A full bibliography of his writings is included in the recent authoritative biography by NuttRick L., The Whole Gospel for the Whole World: Sherwood Eddy and the American Protestant Mission (Macon, Ga.: Mercer Univ. Press, 1997). Eddy's papers are preserved in the Day Missions Library of Yale Divinity School.
