Variation of plastic anisotropy in relation to texture of copper and brass sheet

The relationship between the plastic anisotropy of copper and brass sheets and their crystallographic textures has been examined. The experiments were carried out on a series of sheets cold-rolled 65 and 93% and annealed at temperatures of 400°, 500°, and 600°C. The strain ratio was measured for various orientations to the rolling direction and (111) pole figures determined by X-ray techniques. The results of research and the methods used to analyse the orientation of active slip systems of grains made it possible to establish and explain the relationships between the anisotropy coefficients, type of texture, and the degree of intensity of {111} pole planes.
