EHMG Winterev 07: Characterisation of engineered surfaces and coatings in hard materials

The EPMA European Hard Materials Group (EHMG) held the fourth of its themed Winterev meetings at CEIT, San Sebastian on 22–23 February 2007. Hosted by Dr Jose Manuel Sanchez, the meeting was attended by 17 people from 9 organisations from across industry, academia and RTOs, who debated various issues associated with the characterisation of coatings for hard materials in an informal setting. Dr Sanchez also led, with colleagues, an informative tour of the CEIT Materials Centre laboratories, particularly to see the advanced nanoindentation, AFM and electron microscopy equipment.
