Development of an improved voltage and current measurement system for studying spark characteristics with application to electrodischarge machining

Abstract

An on-line measurement system for voltage and current has been developed with application to wire electrodischarge machining. It uses the Hall effect sensor for current measurement. This measurement system was tested to count the actual number of pulses taking place during machining and to capture the spark characteristics during several unstable machining conditions.
