Letter: Determination of Positions of Double Bonds in Conjugated Alkadienes by Means of Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry of Dimethyl Disulfide Derivatives

Abstract

A five-membered cyclic thioether and a monoderivatized compound are formed after reaction between DMDS and a conjugated alkadiene. The simultaneous formation of these compounds allows the determination of the position of the double bonds.
