Abstract
This issue of JERHRE examines two kinds of forums for public or community voice on issues of bioethical relevance: Community advisory boards in biobanking and democratic deliberation as a tool for bioethics. Two other articles examine attitudes of research participants about receiving the genetic results of their own contributions of tissue to research. Educational activities are presented that enable readers to better digest and use the complex ideas presented in those four articles. The following activities are best conducted in small groups.
