Abstract
Many drug agencies are now recognizing that in order to be effective in dealing with the changing drug problems, their staffs require additional training in many areas. Although there are numerous groups available to drug agencies for training assistance, these training agencies do not always provide appropriate training programs. Therefore it is important for both groups to conduct training needs assessments so that these needs are effectively met. This paper presents one method by which to assess training needs; this approach relies heavily on the needs identified by actual drug abuse agencies staff.
