Long-Term Changes in Properties of the Autokinetic Illusion

Large inter-individual differences were noted in latency, complexity, amount, and direction of movement reported by three sophisticated Ss exposed to the autokinetic illusion for 90 sec. on each of 120 consecutive days. Systematic changes characteristic of each S were far too complex to permit the typical analyses found in the literature, using only the four primary directions, simple latencies, simple qualitative comparison of drawings, etc.
