Abstract
In a classical conditioning paradigm a loud buzzer (UCS) was paired with colored light stimuli (CS). Ss were 16 neurotic introverts and 16 neurotic extroverts, with 8 males and 8 females in each group. GSR (CR) and gross motor activity were recorded throughout pre-conditioning, conditioning and extinction phases. There was a significant triple interaction for GSR among extroversion, sex, and conditioning; introverts showed a greater response than extroverts and male introverts greater than female introverts. Overt motor activity showed no relationship to the other variables.
