Abstract
Previous research concerned with body and self-concept has not taken into consideration the possible significance of S's attitude toward his ability to move. To explore this variable, a scale was developed to assess Ss satisfaction or dissatisfaction with his movement ability. By the use of a panel of experts who judged the items and through item analysis the original 129 items were reduced to 50 in a final form. This form was administered to 877 men and women between the ages of 14 and 21 yr.; reliability was .95. Males tended to express greater satisfaction with their ability to move than females, and older Ss tended to express less satisfaction than younger Ss.
