Anxiety reactions of 5 extraverted and 6 introverted male Ss to 45 min. of extreme sensory redundancy and to the prospect of prolonging the experience were measured. Extraverts were slightly more anxious about the actual experience and were significantly more anxious about the anticipated experience than the introverts. These results conflict with most of the earlier studies, but they are consistent with theoretical expectations.
