Correcting for Grade Inflation in Studies of Academic Performance

Abstract

Comparison of data from 2 college samples (ns = 162 and 193) shows that grade inflation can affect the outcomes of cross-sectional studies. A correction based on Goldman and Hewitt's (1975) rationale effectively controls for such inflation.
