52 Negro patients at Milledgeville State Hospital were administered all forms of the QT and an abbreviated Verbal, Performance, and Full Scale WAIS. QT IQs averaged 7 to 8 points higher than WAIS IQs, but the scores for the two instruments were highly correlated. The QT was found to be equally efficacious above and below the demarcation (IQ 70) between normality and mental deficiency. Es suggest the use of the QT as an initial screening device.
