117 scientists and engineers at a large research and development laboratory were divided into high and low creatives on the basis of creativity scores on a biographical inventory. Conventional scales on the Adjective Check List discriminated better between the high and low creatives than did an empirically constructed creativity scale developed by Smith and Schaefer (1969).
