The present study sought to investigate the efficacy of the Leiter in a sample of 35 culturally disadvantaged psychiatric patients. Correlations between Leiter and Wechsler Scales ranged from .62 to .71. Mean Leiter IQs were 12.77 points lower than WAIS Full Scale IQs. Implications of this difference are discussed.
