Treating attributional consistency as repeated measures, attributional reversals were produced when subjects were given a second opportunity to attribute to behavior whose duration exceeded appropriate time limits. Results are discussed in terms of the observer's expectancy of the actor's behavior and an extension of Kelley's (1967) analysis-of-variance formulation of attribution is offered.
