The study determined the best predictors of instructors' effectiveness and need for improvement ratings by 2,012 college students. Ratings were more useful in predicting effectiveness (R = .86) than in predicting need for improvement (R = .71). Interest/Attention Value and Clarity of Explanation were major predictors in both stepwise regression analyses.
