Abstract
The grasses plant bug Collaria columbiensis is a pest of the pastures dedicated to milk production in the Sabana of Bogota, Colombia. Up to date no control measures have been developed and there is not information available about its population dynamics and sampling methods. This research was carried out to know the spatial distribution pattern and to deternine the sample size. The models of Iwao and Kuno were compared. The Iwao model adjusted better to the observed data. It was determined that the pest has an aggregated spatial distribution pattern. A minimal of 39 samples taken at random per hectare is required as a convinient sample size.
