Summary

Neither cysteine, glutathione nor sulfate exhibit a measurable effect on anaerobic glycolysis nor on its inhibition by high p CO₂. Sulfide, at higher than physiological levels, and sulfite, in amounts found in semen, stimulate anaerobic glycolysis and reverse inhibition of glycolysis by CO₂.
