Summary
A modified method is. described for measurement of the avidity of rabbit anti-sheep hemolysin in terms of the proportional transfer of the antibody from one population of erythrocytes to another. It is simple, involves colorimetric measurements only, eliminates the need for pretreatment (e.g., Cr51- labeling) of one of the 2 cell populations, yet yields results comparable to those obtained using an isotopic label.
