Abstract
Summary
Bacterium necrophorum introduced in large numbers into the isolated colon of a dog were recovered in appreciable numbers after a period of 12 hours. When oxygen was admitted into the bowel containing the culture for a period of 90 minutes no Bact. necrophorum organisms were recovered at the end of that time. Nitrogen similarly injected into the bowel was without effect.
