Abstract
Summary
The presence of 1-tryptophan decreases the rate of intestinal absorption of L-histidine in the rat. The absorption rate of 1-tryptophan does not appear to be affected by the simultaneous presence of histidine. Dl-phenylalanine and L-arginine do not seem to affect significantly the absorption of either histidine or tryptophan.
