Summary
Young rats, reared on a low Na diet, manifested growth failure, and their bones contained 8-10% (depending on method of calculation) less Na than pair fed controls. Radiosodium exchangeability declined by a similar amount, and it is concluded that the change in Na content involved the exchangeable fraction.
