Effet d'Aharonov-Bohm sur un état borné de l'opérateur de Dirac

On s'intéresse ici à l'étude lorsque h→0 (en limite semi-classique) de l'opérateur de Dirac défini sur C^∞(R³;C⁴) par:

(1) D_t(h)=Σ³_j=1α_j(hD_j+tA_j)+α₄+V(x).I₄,

en présence d'un champ magnétique B = rot A nul en-dehors d'un cylindre (ici les α_j désignent des matrices 4 × 4 qui anticommutent). Dans le cas de l'opérateur de Schrödinger en dimension 2, si le champ magnétique est nul en-dehors d'un disque, B. Helffer a montré qu'il peut apparaître un effet de flux qui décale les valeurs propres de l'opérateur sans champ magnétique, cet effet de flux est nommé effet d'Aharonov-Bohm. On montre ici qu'il en est de même pour l'opérateur de Dirac et on verra qu'en limite non-relativiste l'effet d'Aharonov-Bohm provoque un découplage des valeurs propres (qui sont de multiplicité paire en l'absence de champ magnétique).

In this paper we study the Dirac operator defined on C^∞(R³;C⁴) by:

(1) D_t(h)=Σ³_j=1α_j(hD_j+tA_j)+α₄+V(x).I₄,

– where the α_j are anticommuting 4 × 4 matrices - in the semi-classical limit (h→0). We suppose that the magnetic field B = rot A vanishes outside a cylinder. With analogous hypothesis for the Schrödinger operator in dimension 2 (i.e., B vanishes outside a disc), B. Helffer proved that a flux effect can occur: the eigenvalues are greater than those which correspond to the operator without magnetic field. This is called Aharonov-Bohm effect.

Whe show here that the Aharonov-Bohm effect appears for the Dirac operator too. In the non-relativistic limit, we find examples where the Aharonov-Bohm effect splits the double eigenvalues of the fieldless Dirac operator.
