Abstract
The online-measurement of mechanical-technological characteristic values is made necessary by the need of the steel plants to control the quality of steel sheets continuously during its production under rough industrial environmental conditions. In this paper it is shown that continuous online measurements based solely on the data of the harmonic analysis of eddy current signals are well established by now. The presented online measuring system provides reliable mechanical-technological characteristic values showing clearly changes of the material which are caused e.g. by variations of the furnace temperature or degree of skin-passing or levelling.
