Consumer choice as a predictor of job satisfaction and supervisor ratings for people with disabilities

Little investigation into the job satisfaction of individuals with disabilities has occurred. This is, in part, due to the lack of choices given to many individuals who are disabled as well as to the complexity of measurement issues. This study examined the relationship between one's employment choices and their job satisfaction. In addition, employer ratings as a consequence of job satisfaction were addressed. Findings regarding the former were encouraging, however, results regarding employer ratings did not support the proposed findings. This study holds promise for future research in this important yet methodologically difficult area of inquiry.
