Abstract
In this paper a generic costing framework is proposed for use in a simulation environment to study cost contribution of each resource in an operation to the cost of an operation. The proposed generic framework for an operation along with its cost elements found to be useful in the evaluation of different production scenarios in terms of cost in monetary units. The framework can be used for manufacturing as well as service type operations for generating cost information of each simulated production scenario for the purpose of making comparisons.
