Abstract
As I write this From the Editor, it is the evening and I have spent the day with two of my four grandchildren, Liberty and Zane. They are spending an overnight with me while their parents, my son, Josh and daughter-in-law, Sarah, are away to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. My grandchildren and I have had an enjoyable day doing many occupations such as playing Go Fish and Ticket to Ride, of which I came in last in each game; making guacamole and baking brownies; making play-doh cookies for our pretend cookie shop; holding a tea party and eating the brownies before dinner (the grandchildren call this making mischief with Amma); playing catch; reading stories and taking a walk. It’s not until you’ve spent time with a 5 and 7 year-old that you begin to appreciate the importance of play in preparing for the construct of work.
