Abstract
A hand/joint radiograph from systems such as C-arm is a two-dimensional (2D) projection of a three-dimensional (3D) object. In this paper we describe a simple tomosynthesis algorithm that is particularly suited for 3D imaging of joints based on a C-arm system. The algorithm is tested and evaluated using projections from simulated joints and projections generated with a C-arm system from joints formed by chicken bones. The results obtained demonstrate that the algorithm is able to provide accurate 3D reconstruction of joint structures.
