Comparative Study of Single-Pulse Tri-State and Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulated D.C. to A.C. Inverters

Abstract

This paper presents a comparative study of two commonly used d.c. to a.c. inverter control schemes through computer simulations using PSpice. Such a study provides students taking a power electronics course with a better understanding of the control and power stages of each inverter system by verification of the switch-mode waveforms derived in theory.
