Journalism & Mass Communication Educator

To encourage discussion and facilitate student understanding of how they may be affected by increased enrollments in journalism classes, the AEJ decided in Ottawa to recommend distribution of the statement below to students in introductory classes. Journalism programs, of course, may revise or supplement the statement with information suited to their particular needs.

Dean Emeritus Earl English of the University of Missouri School of Journalism blended a career-long interest in General Semantics and high school journalism in the address below. He spoke at a dinner party given in his honor by the AEJ Secondary Education Division at the Ottawa convention a week before his retirement as professor.
