Correction to: Treating Hyperlipidemia During Breastfeeding by Anderson PO. [Epub ahead of print];DOI: 10.1089/bfm.2019.0300

The LactMed column entitled Treating Hyperlipidemia During Breastfeeding by Philip O. Anderson, initially published electronically in Breastfeeding Medicine (vol. 15, no. 3, 2020; DOI: 10.1089/bfm.2019.0300), requires a correction. On line 7 of the second paragraph under the Statins heading, the relative infant dosage for pravastatin should be about 0.13%, not about 1.5%.

The sentence was originally published online as:

“Pravastatin was measured in the milk of 11 women. Peak milk levels averaged 3.9 mcg/L for pravastatin and 2.1 mcg/L for its metabolite. These correspond to relative infant dosages of about 1.5%.”

The sentence should have appeared as:

Pravastatin was measured in the milk of 11 women. Peak milk levels averaged 3.9 mcg/L for pravastatin and 2.1 mcg/L for its metabolite. These correspond to relative infant dosages of about 0.13%.

The online article has been corrected to reflect these changes.
