Abstract

The Rosalind Franklin Society (RFS), in partnership with Mary Ann Liebert, Inc., publishers, enthusiastically congratulate our distinguished recipient of the 2023 annual
Dr. Gloria Gonzalez Aseguinolaza has been a leading gene therapy scientist and author of numerous contributions to Human Gene Therapy and other leading gene therapy journals for many years. Her work has mostly focused on the interface between adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapy and the immune system, although she has also made major contributions to the field of liver-directed AAV gene therapy for a wide range of genetic disorders. Her work has shed light on the choice of AAV serotypes for treating various diseases. It has directly advanced the body of knowledge enabling gene therapy clinical trialists to manage the immune response to AAV vectors more effectively. As a visible leader of both the Spanish Society of Gene Therapy and the European Society of Gene Therapy, she has been an exemplary role model for younger scientists striving to establish their careers in this field.
