In the December 2018 issue of Journal of Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics (vol. 34, no. 10; 677–684) the article entitled In Vitro Evaluation of Hybrid Cooperative Complexes of Hyaluronic Acid as a Potential New Ophthalmic Treatment by La Gatta et al. requires correction. In the Methods section, the first part of the Materials paragraph has been modified.

On page 678, the Methods section, first paragraph, the fourth sentence read:

“HA sodium salt (L-HA) was prepared by hydrolyzing the H-HA powder under heterogeneous acid conditions, as reported elsewhere.²⁸”

This has been revised to read:

For the preparation of hybrid cooperative complexes (HCC), the high molecular weight HA sodium salt, lot. No. 5052/1, was also kindly provided by Altergon srl (Italy). The hydrodynamic characterization provided a M_w 1500 ± 50kDa; M_w/M_n = 1.5 ± 0.1, intrinsic viscosity value 22.2 ± 2.1dL/g, hydrodynamic radius 78 ± 3 nm. Low molecular weight hyaluronic acid sodium salt (L-HA) was prepared by hydrolysing the H-HA powder under heterogeneous acid conditions, as reported elsewhere.²⁸

In addition, also in the Methods section, page 678, the first line of the HCC preparation paragraph read:

“The HCC complex (16g/L H-HA +16g/L L-HA) was obtained following the NAHYCO technology…”

This has been revised to read:

The HCC complex (16g/L H-HA 1500kDa +16g/L L-HA 100kDa) was obtained following the NAHYCOTM technology…
