In the August 2012 issue of Stem Cells and Development, the article entitled “A New Efficient Protocol for Directed Differentiation of Retinal Pigmented Epithelial Cells from Normal and Retinal Disease Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells,” by Zahabi A, et al. requires correction.

Due to an unintentional human error related to data handling/labelling during the preparation of the RPE differentiation image, in Figure 1B (day 30, Noggin group) resulted in an incorrect figure placement such that the day 18 and day 30 of Noggin data (first panel) were derived from the same sample. The same mistake had unfortunately occurred for Figure 3, in the higher magnification for phase contrast of RP1 and ALP staining of LHON.

The original version of “day 30” image from Figure 1B of Noggin group and the higher magnification for phase contrast of RP1 and ALP staining of LHON from Figure 3 were replaced the correct images. The figure legend in the original publication does not require correction. The original and corrected Figures 1 and 3 are shown below.
