We are grateful to Dr. Neipominiszcze et al. for underlining once more the impact of the correction of hypercortisolism on the immune system and in particular on autoimmunity against the thyroid gland. As a matter of fact, the results of the Neipominiszcze et al.'s study (1) strengthen the conclusions of our recent Letter to the Editor (2). Unfortunately, we did not quote that article in our Letter to the Editor because we simply missed it, and not because we were not willing to recognize its importance, for which we apologize deeply to Dr. Neipominiszcze and his coworkers.
