Abstract
In this paper, EPC RFID (radio-frequency identifications) technology, which was developed originally for logistics and supply chain applications, is being investigated for the use of self-service library book checkout applications. To find out the key factors and also the interaction effects among the factors affecting the performance for the aforementioned applications, design of experiment techniques, especially the factorial design method, are being used to obtain the maximum amount of reliable information and at the same time to reduce the cost by minimising the number of runs needed in the experiment.
