The Role of Experiential Learning in the Education of Teachers

Miss Hildreth, Assistant Professor of Education at Brooklyn College, Brooklyn, New York, spoke as President of the Di vision of Educational Psychology, Ameri can Psychological Association, at The Pennsylvania State College, September 5, 1950. In her address she challenged teacher-education leaders to a reexamina tion of many commonly accepted assump tions and widely used procedures in the education of teachers. Her plea for an enlarged role for experiential learning throughout the entire period of prepara tion is backed by concise argument in this article.
