Abstract
The replies to a questionnaire addressed in 1974 to some seventy progressive cereal farmers are analysed. The results include factual data on the size distribution of the farms and the labour force and numbers of tractors employed, details of seed rates and sowing dates of winter and spring cereals grown on recorded fields, together with information on fertilizer practice and methods of land preparation and straw disposal, and opinions expressed by these farmers on certain topics.
