Samuel Escobar is one of the most thoughtful, stimulating, and influential missiologists in the contemporary world. He has made outstanding contributions within the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES), the Lausanne Movement, and in theological institutions in three continents. His voice is rooted in Scripture, shaped in Latin America, and stimulated and sharpened by engagement in the student world.
This anthology introduces us to some of his most significant contributions in the fields of culture and mission, mission in Latin America, theological and missiological education and integral mission. It is an indispensable companion for anyone interested in these major areas of reflection and praxis.

After a century of Pentecostal-Charismatic mission in Africa, one of the major challenges faced by many of its denominations is how to remain contextually relevant and survive beyond the original generation without losing their authenticity and identity. This book explores the mission models of Apostle James McKeown, a British Pentecostal missionary and founder of the largest Pentecostal Church in Ghana - the Church of Pentecost. It argues that mission theology should be reconsidered for each generation because differences in generational cultures, just like geographical cultures, impinge on Christian mission. The book proposes an ‘Intergenerational Mission Approach’ (IGMA) as a missiological imperative for African Pentecostal-Charismatic Christianity.

This volume addresses the theologies of Wealth and Prosperity putting the African Church in focus. Wealth and prosperity have become a subject of much wider interest in the Church at all level. The volume responds to the emergence of prosperity Gospel practices in both mission and African Independent Churches today. The book gives biblical perspectives on Wealth and Prosperity drawn from the Old and the New Testament. Preaching and teaching on wealth and prosperity have always been framed negatively. Discussions in this volume have explored ways wealth and prosperity can be framed positively, given the fact that God has endowed enormous and abundant resources in Africa.

Sung Chan Kwon
This insightful missional reading of the Gospel of John is a very welcome contribution to the growing number of studies applying a missional hermeneutic to particular biblical texts. As such it should be required reading for anyone wishing to engage more with missional readings or more general scholarship on the Fourth Gospel. Importantly, Sung Chan Kwan combines careful scholarship with his experience as an East Asian mission practitioner, bringing questions to the text that have emerged from his own journey. There is much to learn from this volume.

This book contextually examines the advent of Christianity in South Manipur Hills, North-East India, within the larger framework of British colonial intrusions upon the Zo world. It explores the internal rationale that informs the reception, appropriation, and institutionalisation of the Christian narrative through a hermeneutical reading of the Senvon-encounter between the missionaries and the Zo communities as a site of dialogic meeting and negotiation. The authors postulate the importance of the agency of host communities as a site of contextual enquiry which has methodological and substantive insights, both for the theological discourse on contextualisation, and the self-understanding of the Zo peoples.
