Abstract

In this article, Maria Daskalaki connects the practical concept of cosmopolitanism with the academic research on global careers. She does so in a unique way by her own experiences as a cosmopolitan via the use of autoethnography and autobiography. This article is interesting, not only because of the fascinating insights gained from the empirical research, but also because it provides a very clear understanding of the use of autoethnography as a method in organizational studies. I think this work does an excellent job of continuing the tradition within Journal of Management Inquiry (JMI) of having scholars take them and their work more purposely, and eliminating the chasm between researcher and research (Empson, in press).
