Abstract
The game we call Your Lot in Life promotes students' understanding of contemporary research on developmental issues white nurturing their skills in obtaining and disseminating information from scholarly and community resources. Students arc assigned a hypothetical “lot” representing a life event that centers on a developmental issue. The lot serves as the topic for empirical research and investigations into community agencies. In addition, students consider how the lot will affect the course of individual development and its implications for the quality of family life. Findings from students' research are presented in a final paper and in poster format. Benefits of the project include enhancement of critical-thinking skills and exposure to theoretical as well as applied aspects of developmental issues
